陆风's ร็อบ's Rob's. BlogNot long now! June 10 Hello again.Well, here I am again. Finished travelling and living in Thailand.
I've got no real desire to write a long blog about my life here, so I'll quickly type my average - Thai day.
5.30am - Wake up, go to the bathroom and pour water straight from a bath/trough over my head and body.
5.43am - Get dried, put on a clothes and tie.
6.10am - Leave the house, walk under my girlfriends grandma's house, say hello to lots of locals and eat
Muslim pancakes (Roti) made and sold on a street stall near a school by my girlifriend's auntie.
6.20am - Hop on the back of a converted pick-up truck (rot sawng thao), and drive down a big road towards the Skytrain. Here are things I see along the way; Monks and their helpers walking to the temples, people kneeling down and giving monks food, stray dogs, millions of motorbikes, food stalls on every corner, more stray dogs old hut buildings, brand new villa complexes, Mercedes garages, people on push bikes selling fruit.
7.00am - Arrive at a Carrefour supermarket, pay 6baht (8p) to the driver and walk with the rest of the commuters down a small side street oozing with stalls, down the busiest of roads in Bangkok and onto the BTS (Skytrain)
7.20am - Get off the skytrain, purchase 1/4 of pineapple and melon for 20baht (30p) and arrive at my school.
7.50am - 3.30pm Teach English, Geography, History, Science, PE to my 5 students - on Wednesdays I teach chess as well.
4.30pm - Reverse the travel to arrive at school, go home.
5.30pm - Arrive home.
7.00pm - Go to a shopping mall, buy playstation games for 70baht (1 pound), eat steak, salad or thai food.
9.00pm - Fall asleep!
That's an average Monday - Friday day. Occasionally I use the schools swimming pool, probabbly twice a week we go to the cinema.
At the weekends, especially if it is a 3-4 day weekend, we go to the islands! Sit on a bus for 2 hours, on a boat for 30 minutes and we are in paradise. Rent motorbikes, snorkle and eat amazing food by the beach!
Starting playing Lacrosse today, should be fun in 34 degrees.
:)

Enjoy August 15 Shambala 2005I've just returned from Shambala 2005 in Plymouth. What an awesome weekend, I've got a new appreciation for ska music! All weekend I bopped, stomped and generally lost the plot to funky ska bands. Other amazing acts were a one man band who using just his voice and guitar he'd create intense drum and bass tunes by beat boxing and looping himself, a modern day Pink Floyd playing live progressive house music and drum and bass, Absolote and Syzergy were insane to pounding Techno and crazy visuals.
I've been drinking Chai and eatig veggy food all weekend, I think want to be a hippy.
Enjoy the photos (and my dress) August 11 Geeky Boast PostI've got a new PSP, well my Dad has.
It can store Films, Music, Photos and obviously it can play games.
Kick ass.
August 08 Party weekendWhat a cunt, I just wrote a fucking huge e-mail explaining all my weekend in detail and the fucking thing didn't save!!
FUCK YOU MICROSOFT!
Now I have some completely un-related photos for people to look at.
Thanks.....
EDIT!
Ok, ok ---- I re-typed the story again on an e-mail. So I 'll just paste this!
(What have you been upto since you've finished work Rob?)
Well, nothing really spending a bit of time learning the in(')?s and out(')?s of Spanish and Thai, bought my Malaria tablets, set-up my tent to check it's OK for the festival this weekend. Had a huge secret party on Saturday night, my friend told me it was cancelled because his parents were arguing on holiday and were coming home ( I may have told you ) so he came round to my house on Saturday to drag me upto his house to help him take all his DJ equipment down to another house in Macclesfield. Needless to say I was less than entusiastic, but after an hour of convincing me, I set off to go up to his house. When I got there I noticed a huge in his drive so I said "Man your parents are back, I'm not in the fit state to listen to them argue" "Yes, gutted" he replied. However when we got up his track the car turned out to be my mates and around the corner another 15 odd cars were there. Shed loads of my mates! He had rented huge speakers and had set-up a massive BBQ!!
PARTY !
Right off for a manicure. |
